These themed itineraries draw together
the aspects that characterize Turin best. In exploring
the city, we discover Piedmontese Baroque, places where
history was made, striking art installations, quiet,
romantic corners, and occasions to enjoy a truly unique
town. |
 Retrace
the steps of the grand statesman Count Cavour, one of
the key figures in the building of the Italian nation.
The walk starts at his birthplace, Palazzo Cavour,
and passes by the Whist Club he founded. The journey
through history continues with a visit to Palazzo
Carignano and the Hall of Parliament, where
Cavour held office as deputy, minister and prime minister.
Across the square, we find Il Cambio, Cavour's
preferred restaurant, and nearby, Café Fiorio,
his favorite place for discussing politics. Our walk
concludes with a stop at Palazzo Barolo, where
Cavour would meet the Marquise Giulia di Barolo. |

with its unique Renaissance facade. Just around the
corner stands the Royal Palace, its harmonious
Baroque facade dominating the square before it. A leap
in architectural history takes us to the Casa Fenoglio,

 If
all art was once contemporary, then this tour puts us
firmly in the present. We visit the outstanding collections
in the GAM - the Civic Museum of Modern and Contemporary
Art, and in Rivoli Castle - the Museum of Contemporary
Art. Outdoor art installations featured in this
tour include the fountain by the young artist Enrica
Borghi at the entrance to the Torino Incontra
Conference Center, Luigi Stoisa's sculpture in
front of Molinette Hospital, Corrado Levi's "piercing"
in Piazzetta Corpus Domini, Gilberto Zorio's
star in the lake of the Italia '61 grounds, and Mario
Merz's number sequence installed on the cupola of
the Mole Antonelliana building. Merz's piece is one
