> OLYMPIC VENUES

Competition facilities during the Olympic Winter Games, they are now cutting-edge locations available for conventions, congresses, fairs, exhibitions and big events.

  Oval Lingotto

Oval Lingotto was the centre of attention during the 2006 Olympic Winter Games as the venue where the Italian athletes won the gold medals in speed skating.
Post-Olympics: the building is being used for fairs and exhibitions, while maintaining the option of use as an ice rink venue.
Technical data: the building is composed of the main hall with a surface area of about 20,000 square meters. It is a large, easily-adaptable area due to its completely suspended roof that uses no intermediate supports.

Designed by the architect Arata Isozaki from Tokyo, this structure hosted ice hockey competitions.
Post-Olympics: the arena is used for sporting events, concerts, shows,
events and conventions.
Technical data: the building is constructed of a large stainless steel mass measuring 183x100 metres that is suspended on a 5-metre high base. Its mobile stands can hold more than 12,000 spectators and can be configured in various positions by using remote controlled machinery to raise and move them as needed

  Palavela

This building was originally constructed to commemorate the centennial of the Unification of Italy, and was completely restructured by Gae Aulenti and Arnaldo De
Bernardi in order to host figure skating and short-track events.
Post-Olympics: it is used for events and temporary exhibitions.
Technical data: the venue, which has a capacity for more than 8,000 spectators, is characterised by its sail-shaped structure, developed around three reinforced concrete arches and anchored to the ground in three points. Its hexagonal base is surrounded by a 150-metre circle and is 29 metres tall at its
highest point. The track measures 60x30 metres.

  Torino Esposizioni

The building has been partly redeveloped to host the ice hockey competitions.
Post-Olympics: it has come back to its previous function as an exhibition centre, hosting the GAM (the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) collection.
Technical data: the overall area of the venue is 56,246 square metres. The stands can house 5,800 spectators.
